Zimbabwe born Susan Hubert takes her passion for Africa and mixes it with intrigue and scandal to write easy reading, page turning fictional stories.
SABI STAR is her first novel and has just been released in September 2013. It is available in print and ebook formats on Amazon and will soon be in all other online book stores. Print versions are also available in book outlets in Zimbabwe.
Sabi Stirling is a naïve but spunky girl of just fifteen. She has been brought up mainly by her gogo as her mother is dead and her father has always been emotionally detached from her. Gogo dies, leaving Sabi feeling lost and bereft, but when she goes to her funeral she meets an American woman; Clare Boucher. Sabi immediately feels a connection with Clare and in the weeks that follow and deep, long hidden family secrets surface, she finds herself turning to Clare for comfort and clarification. Clare meanwhile has problems of her own, but as Sabi’s troubled life unravels before her, she starts to have a clearer understanding of her own predicament and what she needs to do to make things better for herself.
Susan’s second novel, SUNRISING will be released in early 2014. This story is about a fictitious woman by the name of Isabella Craig and is set in 1905. Through Isabella, the novel depicts the highs and lows of being an early European settler in Africa. Like Sabi Star, there are some intriguing twists and turns in the story.
Susan is working on the sequel to Sunrising, entitled THE FULL MOON RISES AT SUNSET, and hopes to have this novel ready for release at the end of 2014.
